Note: New sites in progress for Aranya's works - rugosana.com, appreciatebiodiversity.org
This is a showcase of creative art, writings and such, of our now 14 year old daughter Aranya, who is an autodidact, a polymath, an artist. Aranya is self- motivated, innately creative, and a perfect complement to her brother Arav. We are fortunate to be her parents and learn from her and her brother Arav every day. She loves nature, mathematics, sciences, astronomy, and everything about the world around her, and amazes us her with her extraordinary creativity, resourcefulness, organizational skills, patience, and wisdom.
Aranya has always been very aware of her surroundings even as a baby. She knew the alphabet and numbers as a toddler, and started writing by 2. One day after Arav and I returned to a chess game that we had abandoned, and found, much to our amazement, that the chess pieces were all rearranged perfectly. It was little Aranya who had done so and she was barely 2. She had been observing the game closely.
I often took her as a baby to music concerts and she listened with rapt attention. The audience members were astonished to see a baby and her toddler brother so well behaved. During one concert, little 13 month old Aranya, sitting in my arms, turned to me and whispered," Can I have some water, please?" I was taken aback by her sense of awareness. How did she know to whisper? I whispered to her," Sorry, baby, I don't have any right now. Please wait for a bit." Aranya nodded, turned to the concert, and didn't say a word until the concert was over. A one year old with such maturity and poise!
Aranya loves math, reading, composing for piano, writing stories and poems, and discussing her imaginary world with Arav, who is also her best friend. She has won awards for her photography, music, illustrations, and poetry. She also enjoys programming.
